JOB OVERVIEW

Unrivaled is seeking an experienced independent social media specialist to provide social media and content services in support of its basketball clubs during the 2026–2027 Unrivaled season. The engagement is expected to begin on December 14, 2026, with onsite production activities in Miami, Florida beginning on or around December 26, 2026, and continuing through approximately mid-March 2027, subject to completion of the agreed scope of services.

The contractor will provide social media strategy, content creation, and community engagement services to support the digital presence of assigned basketball clubs. Services include developing authentic, platform-appropriate content, fostering audience engagement, and creating social-first storytelling that reflects the intersection of women's basketball, culture, and lifestyle.

The contractor will collaborate with players, club and league representatives, and other creative contributors to capture and publish timely content, while exercising independent professional judgment regarding the manner and means of performing the services. Except where onsite attendance is reasonably required for games, events, shoots, or other production activities, the contractor will determine how and where to perform the services necessary to complete the agreed deliverables.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Develop and execute social media strategies and content plans for assigned Unrivaled Club accounts across TikTok, Threads, Instagram, and other designated platforms.
• Create, curate, and publish short-form video, Reels, Stories, and other social-first content that captures the energy of the league and its players.
• Coordinate with content, video, design, and other creative contributors to produce and deliver campaign, cultural, and player-focused content.
• Attend designated games, events, shoots, and other production activities to capture timely content and provide real-time social media coverage.
• Plan and coordinate publishing schedules, content calendars, and community engagement activities, including monitoring comments, direct messages, and tagged content, as appropriate.
• Coordinate with athletes and other approved participants to develop authentic, social-first content.
• Monitor social media trends, emerging formats, and platform best practices, and incorporate relevant insights into content planning and execution.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3–5 years of experience managing social media for a brand, athlete, or entertainment property—TikTok and Instagram expertise is essential
• Deep understanding of short-form video, including creating, editing, captioning, and platform-native humor and trends
• Strong creative instincts with a sharp sense of tone, timing, and what makes people stop scrolling
• Ability to move fast, adapt quickly, and create in a real-time, high-energy environment
• Familiarity with women’s sports and a genuine passion for elevating athletes’ voices
• Basic knowledge of editing tools (e.g. CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, InShot) is a plus
• Exceptional communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Experience traveling with a brand, athlete or entertainment property, and navigating capturing and creating content in that environment a plus
• Must be located in the Miami, FL area or be willing to move there during the season (relocation expenses are not provided).
