SEASONAL AGRONOMY TRUCK DRIVER (September - end of November)
Multiple Locations: Rochelle, IL and Lee Center, IL
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for driving diesel powered tandem or tractor trailer combinations to transport and deliver grain or agronomy materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form by performing the duties listed below as needed. Safety is a priority! All tasks must be completed in a safe manner following established safety procedures, at times with little supervision. This is an hourly position and compensation will be based upon experience. This position requires extended work hours during peak seasons, including weekends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Safely operate trucks as needed to deliver products to application equipment in the field
- Read gauges or meters and record quantity loaded and unloaded
- Assist the equipment operator with filling and other needs to help maximize actual application time throughout the day
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks
- Perform basic clean-up, preventative maintenance on equipment, and light mechanic/shop work
- Assist in maintenance and cleanliness of facility, equipment, and grounds
- Operate all machinery and equipment as required
- Greet customers in a courteous manner
- Understand and comply with ALL company, Federal, and State rules and regulations. This includes DOT, OSHA, Drug Testing, and Vehicle Maintenance Programs.
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: The ideal candidate will have a current class A CDL license. Have working knowledge of agronomy facility operations including experience handling chemicals, fertilizers and other inputs.

Maplehurst (which was named for the many maple trees which lined the property at one time) has seen unprecedented changes in agriculture, technology, politics, and much else. The Maple Hurst Stock Farm evolved from a small grain and livestock farm into a large grain, fertilizer, and trucking facility. As with all other things, the caliber of the people who have owned, staffed, and operated Maplehurst over the years have made all of the difference in ensuring its current success. Today LD's children and grandchildren help operate the thriving agribusiness. Maplehurst Farms now has multiple locations to serve you all across north central Illinois.
