Evaluation Period: Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester, the performance evaluation will be completed after that semester
Purpose: The Office Assistant and Social Media/Web Coordinator will support the operations of the School of Business and contribute to maintenance of web and social media content.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with administrative duties and projects as assigned (e.g. answer phone, greet guests, maintain inventory, coordinate mailings, make copies).
Assist the School with managing a social media content calendar, creating posts and event announcements, monitoring conversations about MSJ, and measuring the effectiveness of overall efforts.
Schedule coordinated content on a biweekly basis with established weekly outreach activities (e.g. 1-3 posts per week, # of call/texts per week.).
Monitor and manage School of Business social media accounts for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and TikTok to highlight the activities of students, faculty, and alumni.
Be comfortable interpreting data and performing data entry and composing written communications.
Make changes and updates to web content as needed.
This position requires communication and coordination with multiple faculty members, the Administrative Assistant, and the Dean, as well as consultation with members of the University Communications team and other members of the campus community.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University.
Must be co-op eligible
15-20 hours per week, including Fridays, generally during daytime hours with possible evening or weekend hours as negotiated
Ability to work on own initiative, independently, and to deadlines.
Well organized, punctual, and reliable.
The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the University.
Must have experience using at least four of the following platforms: Instagram, YouTube, X (formerly) Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
Should be proficient in Microsoft Excel or similar software.
Should have strong organizational skills and pay close attention to detail.
Video editing experience preferred.
Should have strong written and interpersonal communication skills
