Sales Operations Manager

Job Details: Job Location: HQ JM EAGLE - LOS ANGELES, CA, Salary Range: $100000.00 - $130000.00Salary, SUMMARY

A sales operations manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the sales processes, tools, and resources within an organization to ensure efficient and effective sales operations. They work closely with sales teams to streamline workflows, set performance metrics, analyze accounts, and volume levels within each vertical and implement strategies to improve productivity and revenue generation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Sales Tools & Systems Management:

Managing CRM systems and other sales technology to ensure they meet the needs of the sales team.

Process Improvement, Optimization & Strategic Support

Developing and refining sales processes to improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.
Proactively identify inefficiencies within sales operations and recommend data-driven improvements.
Design, document, and present new or revised operational processes and procedures to sales leadership.
Partner with Sales Managers and cross-functional teams to implement approved initiatives.
Monitor outcomes of implemented changes and recommend refinements to drive continuous improvement.

Sales Operational Support:

Maintain and review order accuracy, pricing accuracy, stock match rate and back-order rate. Also, review with team current and projected inventory levels. Support sales in production release and on time delivery.
Review, monitor, and oversee sales workflows related to order processing, contract administration, customer rebate programs, and related operational activities.
Research and analyze internal and external data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for sales growth and operational/production improvement.
Act as a liaison between Sales Operations and other company departments to support seamless execution of cross-functional processes.
Prepare, maintain, and distribute reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and operational documentation.

Inventory type code review and analysis of possible type changes based on sales data.

Sales & Customer Support

Assist with sales order documentation, pricing sheets, customer records, and internal sales tracking tools.
Support customer communications, including order confirmations, documentation requests, and coordination with internal teams.
Prepare quotes, submittals, and supporting sales materials as needed.
Resolve customer issues or complaints that fall outside standard operational procedures.
Serve as a backup for Sales Managers by approving or overriding orders when required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

There are not direct reports into this role.  However, the position involved with coaching sales staff. 

 
Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations, sales support, or a related role, preferably within manufacturing, distribution, construction, utilities, or wholesale environments.
Proven ability to support multiple leaders and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP, CRM, and order or expense management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Paycom, Salesforce) preferred.
Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across teams and leadership levels.
Demonstrated professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Training & Development, or a related field and 5 years of sales operations experience preferred.
In-depth knowledge of sales technologies and demonstrated success in a leadership or management role strongly desired.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and CRM.
