Job Purpose

Drive profitable growth for the KTY site by securing new business, expanding share of wallet within existing accounts, and converting available plant capacity into sustainable Consumer Packaging revenue. The role is accountable for identifying, developing, and winning commercially attractive opportunities aligned with site capabilities, designated production lines, and margin expectations. This position requires a proactive, results-oriented sales leader who can open doors, build a strong pipeline, accelerate conversion, and establish RKW as a preferred partner in Consumer Packaging.

Responsibilities

Business Development

Develop + execute a focused business development strategy for Consumer Packaging that delivers profitable growth for the KTY site. Identify, target, and win new accounts that align with RKW’s strategic priorities, technical capabilities, and profitability requirements.

New Business Acquisition

Proactively hunt for new customers and applications to fill available capacity on designated production lines. Build a qualified pipeline of opportunities and drive conversion.

Growth in Existing Accounts

Expand business within current customers by identifying new applications, cross-selling relevant solutions, increasing share of wallet, and converting unmet customer needs into opportunities.

Commercial Leadership

Lead customer-facing commercial discussions, proposals, and negotiations. Drive pricing discipline, value-based selling, and agreement structures that support long-term profitable growth.

Site Capacity Utilization

Translate plant capacity availability into actionable sales opportunities. Match market demand with manufacturing capabilities to optimize line utilization for the KTY site.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Product Management, R&D, and Marketing to assess feasibility, support product launches, resolve commercial issues, and ensure successful implementation of new business.

Customer Relationship Management

Build and strengthen relationships with key decision-makers across purchasing, technical, operations, quality, and leadership functions.

Performance Management

Maintain a robust opportunity pipeline, accurate forecasts, and clear activity tracking.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Packaging, or a related field.

Professional Experience

Minimum 5–10 years of experience in sales, business development, or key account management, with a strong record of winning new business and delivering profitable growth. Experience in Consumer Packaging, flexible packaging, films, plastics, or a related market is strongly preferred.

Business Development Capability

Demonstrated success in hunting for new business, opening new accounts, and converting opportunities into recurring commercial revenue.

Commercial Acumen

Strong understanding of pricing, margin management, value selling, product mix, and strategic account development.

Customer Management Skills

Skilled in developing relationships across multiple levels + functions within customer organizations. Ability to influence both commercial and technical stakeholders.

Communication & Negotiation

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to lead complex discussions, articulate value propositions, and close business effectively.

Operational Understanding

Ability to understand manufacturing capabilities, production constraints, and application requirements, and translate them into commercially viable opportunities for the plant.

Systems & Tools

Experience with CRM systems, pipeline management tools, and SAP or equivalent ERP systems preferred.

Personal Profile

Highly driven, entrepreneurial, resilient, and action-oriented. Strong self-starter with a disciplined, accountable working style and a clear focus on results. Collaborative team player.

Language Skills

Business fluent in English. Additional language capabilities are an advantage.

Other Requirements

Willingness to travel based on business needs and maintain a valid driver’s license.
