SALES ASSISTANT

The Sales Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Dallas Sales Team to help ensure customers receive timely, accurate, and professional service. This position works closely with Sales Representatives, Customer Service, Warehouse, Purchasing, Transportation, and other departments to support daily sales activities and customer orders.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced food distribution environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide daily administrative support to the Dallas Sales Team.
Assist Sales Representatives with customer requests, order updates, and follow-up.
Enter and process customer orders accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist with quotes, pricing, product availability, and order information.
Communicate with customers by phone and email regarding orders, products, deliveries, and general inquiries.
Assist with resolving customer concerns and coordinate with the appropriate internal departments when issues arise.
Monitor orders and follow up on backorders, shortages, credits, and other order-related issues.
Maintain accurate customer account and sales information in company systems.
Assist with new customer account setup and maintaining customer records.
Assist Sales Representatives with product information, pricing, and customer documentation.
Communicate with Warehouse, Purchasing, Transportation, and Operations to help ensure customer orders are processed correctly.
Follow up on customer requests and ensure issues are communicated and addressed in a timely manner.
Maintain organized records of customer communications, orders, and sales-related information.
Answer and direct incoming calls and emails as needed.
Maintain confidentiality of customer, pricing, and company information.
Follow all company policies, procedures, food safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:  

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in sales support, customer service, order entry, inside sales, or administrative support preferred.
Experience in food distribution, meat, seafood, restaurant supply, or wholesale distribution is a plus.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees at all levels.
Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.

Physical and Work Environment

Primarily office-based in a fast-paced food distribution environment.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility as needed.
May occasionally enter warehouse, cooler, or freezer area and must follow all required safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
Ability to work the scheduled hours required for the position.
