Job Summary: 

Support Kubota Manufacturing of America's Safety & Environmental team through hands-on involvement in workplace safety, environmental compliance, training initiatives, risk assessments, incident investigations, and sustainability programs. This internship provides practical experience in occupational safety, environmental management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment. 

Roles & Responsibilities: 

• Safety Program Administration 

Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety policies and procedures. 

Support safety initiatives designed to promote a safe and healthy work environment. 

Participate in workplace inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and improvement opportunities. 

Help maintain safety documentation, records, and compliance reports. 

• Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification 

• Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses under the guidance of Safety & Environmental professionals. 

• Assist in identifying workplace hazards and recommending corrective actions. 

• Support the tracking and follow-up of safety observations and corrective action plans. 

• Participate in safety walkthroughs of manufacturing and office facilities. 

• Training & Employee Engagement 

• Assist with the development and delivery of safety and environmental training programs. 

• Help create presentations, training materials, and communication tools to promote safety awareness. 

• Support employee participation in safety campaigns and engagement activities. 

• Assist with onboarding safety training and recurring compliance training programs. 

• Incident Investigation & Compliance 

• Assist in investigating workplace incidents, near misses, and safety concerns. 

• Collect data and documentation related to incident investigations. 

• Support root cause analysis and corrective action tracking. 

• Assist with regulatory reporting and documentation requirements. 

• Environmental Management & Sustainability 

• Support environmental compliance initiatives related to waste management, recycling, emissions, and sustainability programs. 

• Assist with environmental inspections and audits. 

• Help maintain environmental permits, records, and compliance documentation. 

• Participate in projects focused on reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices. 

• Professional Development & Team Collaboration 

• Collaborate with Safety & Environmental team members on projects and continuous improvement initiatives. 

• Participate in meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities. 

• Research industry best practices related to workplace safety and environmental stewardship. 

• Complete additional projects and assignments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):  

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities. 
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. 
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. 
• Positive attitude, self-motivation, and willingness to learn. 
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. 
• Must be actively pursuing a related degree throughout the internship period. 
• Expected graduation date must be December 2027 or later. 
• Candidates who have already graduated or who will graduate before December 2027 are not eligible. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Previous coursework or experience related to occupational safety, environmental regulations, or risk management. 
• Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, or other regulatory agencies. 
• Experience working on projects, presentations, or research assignments. 
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. 
• Interest in manufacturing operations and continuous improvement methodologies. 

Education Requirements: 

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field. 

Language Requirements: 

Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
