Roll Off Permanent DOT Driver

Job Details: Job Location: UDP Cottontown Transfer Station - Cottontown, TN, Salary Range: Undisclosed, The Roll-Off Permanent DOT Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a roll-off truck to deliver, exchange, and service permanent roll-off containers at customer locations. The driver will follow assigned routes and schedules, safely position containers, transport materials, and provide professional service to commercial and residential customers.

The driver is responsible for conducting required vehicle inspections, properly operating roll-off equipment, securing loads, maintaining required documentation, and complying with all DOT regulations and company safety procedures. This position requires safe driving practices, attention to detail, dependable attendance, and the ability to work independently while managing an assigned route.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a roll-off truck to deliver, exchange, and pick up containers.
Deliver and position permanent containers at designated customer locations.
Safely remove and replace containers as scheduled or requested.
Follow assigned routes, schedules, and customer instructions.
Properly operate hydraulic roll-off equipment and secure loads for transport.
Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Maintain accurate driving logs, route records, and required documentation.
Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding container deliveries, exchanges, and service needs.
Report vehicle, equipment, container, or customer-site issues to management.
Maintain a clean and safe vehicle and work area.
Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
Work safely around customer facilities, traffic, pedestrians, and other equipment.
Provide professional and courteous customer service.

Qualifications:  

Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
Acceptable driving record.
Current DOT medical certification as required.
Previous roll-off, commercial driving, or waste industry experience preferred.
Ability to safely operate a roll-off truck and hydraulic container system.
Ability to safely maneuver and position containers at customer locations.
Ability to perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Knowledge of safe commercial driving practices and applicable DOT regulations.
Ability to follow assigned routes, schedules, and instructions.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
