Shift:  7:00 AM - 3:00 PM + weekend and weeknight call rotation

As an OR Registered Nurse, you’ll be at the heart of the action, playing a vital role in creating a safe, seamless, and supportive surgical experience for every patient. Whether you’re circulating or scrubbing, you’ll work side-by-side with the surgical team to keep procedures running smoothly, anticipate needs, and ensure exceptional patient care from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and monitors total physiological, psychological, sociocultural, and spiritual needs of surgical patients from infant through geriatrics.
• Develops and maintains an individualized, professionally modified plan of care reflective of changing needs/outcomes by evaluating the patient's needs during procedure.
• Provides nursing care in accordance with nursing standards and the patient's plan of care.
• Initiates teaching appropriate to patient procedure.
• Performs circulating scrub duties according to surgery standards.
• Assists the surgeon with exposure, hemostasis, wound closure and retraction.
• Maintains aseptic technique.
• Communicates with other members of the healthcare team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services.
• Participates in unit operations demonstrating professional behaviors to include supporting goals of Nursing unit and maintaining awareness of resource utilization.

Qualifications

Education:                  

• Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing is required
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred

Licensure:                  

• Current RN Licensure in State of Iowa or applicable compact state.  Must be licensed in state of residence.
• Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
