UW Medical Center-Northwest – Outpatient Infusion Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Part Time Registered Nurse.

WORK SCHEDULE

• Part time / 60% FTE

• 8 hour day shifts, 3 days per week

• Must be available to work Saturdays, Sundays, and 1 additional shift Monday-Friday

DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:

The ambulatory Outpatient Infusion Center is temporarily located on the second floor of the D-wing at UW Medical Center-Northwest, which is just off I-5 in North Seattle. Our clinic treats a broad range of conditions with chimeric monoclonal antibodies, anti-inflammatory tumor necrosis factor inhibiting agents, and other auto-immune biologics as well as antibiotic and fluid/iron replacement therapies.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Screens patients for infusions of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors and therapeutic treatments
• Administers medications, steroids, chemotherapy, and blood products
• Performs venipuncture and accesses implanted ports
• Places IVs and observes patients during infusions
• Disconnects IVs and monitors patients post-infusion
• Programs portable infusion pumps for continuous drug delivery and provides pump usage instructions to patients and caregivers
• Cleans pumps after each use and documents proper pump usage
• Calculates medication dosages for patients under the guidance and consultation of the patient’s physician
• Follows OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents and biohazardous waste

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2 years of recent infusion therapy nursing experience
• Strong IV placement and phlebotomy skills
• Advanced knowledge in IV therapy, IV administration, and peripheral IV or midline maintenance
• Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
• Active BLS

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$46.97 hourly

Pay Range Maximum:

$86.17 hourly

Other Compensation:

BSN (or higher degree) Premium - $1.00/hour
Certification (Specialty Certs) Premium - $1.25/hour
Weekend Shift Premium - $4.00/hour
Overtime Pay
