Roseville Care Center is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our nursing team on a part-time basis.

The RN is responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day nursing activities during their assigned shift while ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care. This position works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON), Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), nursing staff, physicians, residents, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

General Purpose

The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during the assigned tour of duty in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations, and facility policies. The RN is responsible for helping ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Nursing Care

• Provide and supervise direct nursing care to residents as needed.
• Make rounds and observe residents' physical and emotional condition.
• Monitor changes in resident condition and promptly notify the physician, responsible party, and Director of Nursing as appropriate.
• Review nurses' notes and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility policies.
• Start IVs and obtain specimens for laboratory testing as ordered.
• Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules.
• Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents.
• Work with physicians, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and maintain appropriate plans of care.
• Assist with monitoring residents who are seriously ill or require additional observation.
• Ensure residents receive care consistent with their care plans, wishes, and individual needs.

Leadership & Supervision

• Assist with the overall supervision and management of nursing staff during the assigned shift.
• Provide direction and support to LVNs/LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing personnel.
• Make assignments and help ensure adequate staffing to meet resident care needs.
• Conduct nursing rounds and monitor staff performance.
• Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and a positive work environment.
• Address and report staffing, performance, resident care, and operational concerns to the Director of Nursing.
• Maintain a calm, respectful, and supportive atmosphere throughout the unit and shift.

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete medical forms, reports, charting, evaluations, and other required documentation accurately and timely.
• Complete accident and incident reports as required.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and protected health information.
• Follow all HIPAA, infection control, safety, and facility policies and procedures.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and facility surveys as requested.
• Maintain compliance with applicable federal and California nursing regulations.

Care Planning & Assessment

• Participate in resident assessments and the development and review of care plans.
• Review care plans to ensure resident needs, goals, and interventions are accurately addressed.
• Assist with MDS and care plan processes as directed.
• Ensure nursing personnel are aware of and follow resident care plans.
• Participate in care plan meetings and discharge planning as appropriate.

Staff Development & Safety

• Participate in required in-service education and continuing education programs.
• Assist with staff education and training as requested.
• Promote safe work practices and proper infection control procedures.
• Ensure appropriate use of personal protective equipment.
• Follow procedures related to emergency preparedness, fire safety, hazardous materials, and workplace safety.
• Report occupational exposures and unsafe conditions according to facility policy.

Communication & Teamwork

• Maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, physicians, employees, and other departments.
• Communicate resident needs and changes in condition effectively.
• Respond professionally and compassionately to residents and families.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and support the facility's commitment to quality resident care.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current, active, and unencumbered California RN license.
• Previous long-term care/skilled nursing experience preferred.
• 2+ years of nursing experience preferred.
• Training or experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices preferred.
• Experience with PCC preferred.

License & Certifications

• Current, active, and unencumbered California RN license required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Must maintain required continuing education and licensing.
• Must remain in good standing with the California Board of Registered Nursing.

• May be required to assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations.

Work Environment

This position works throughout the nursing department, including resident rooms, nurses' stations, treatment areas, medication rooms, and office areas.

The RN may experience frequent interruptions and interaction with residents, families, visitors, physicians, employees, and government agencies. The position may involve exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, hazardous chemicals, cleaning/disinfecting products, and other conditions common to a skilled nursing environment.

The RN may be required to work weekends and holidays based on facility staffing needs.
