Job Description
Overview
Women and Children’s Float Pool provides nursing and tech support to clinical areas within Women and Children’s Hospital. Our nurses focus on the medical needs and treatment of a broad range of ages from newborn to adults. A thorough orientation is provided on Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, PICU, Women’s surgery and RNICU. Each unit has yearly unit specific competencies that must be maintained by the Float Staff. Each unit provides individual education to meet the needs of their patient population. **A minimum of 2 years experience is required.
Qualifications
Education required: Graduate of accredited school of nursing
License, certification and/or registration: Must have a current Alabama/Multi-state nursing license. BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period. PALS, NRP required within 1 year of hire.
Experience: 2 years experience in any nursing field
Additional skills/abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently. Department specific competencies must be completed within the provisional period
