RN - Correctional Medicine

Adelphi is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) to provide professional nursing services on a contract basis at a facility in Granville County, North Carolina. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently and provide appropriate care and support to adolescents in a structured setting.

Requirements:
• Active North Carolina RN License
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to work independently as the sole medical provider when required
• Experience in adolescent, pediatric, school, public health, correctional, or emergency nursing
• Basic computer skills; ability to use Microsoft Teams or WebEx
• Proficiency with PointClickCare electronic charting
• Must complete orientation (virtual or in-person, followed by facility tour)

Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care within the full scope of RN practice, with a focus on adolescents
• Administer prescribed medications safely and in compliance with regulations
• Monitor and document changes in patients’ medical conditions
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with protocols
• Collaborate closely with direct care staff to ensure continuity of care
• Work independently as the sole nurse on-site during parts of the shift while collaborating with staff
• Promote health, safety, and wellness in a secure environment
• Comply with all facility security rules and procedures
• Participate in required trainings and virtual meetings, remaining visible on camera as directed
• Perform other duties as assigned
