Join New Era during our peak retail season as a Temporary Part-Time Sales Associate at our Buffalo Flagship Store. This temporary opportunity is designed to support increased customer demand from late October through early January. As a Temporary Part-Time Sales Associate, you play a vital role in delivering an exceptional customer experience and bringing the New Era brand to life in Downtown Buffalo. You’ll engage authentically with customers, support daily sales goals, and help create a welcoming, energetic environment on the sales floor. Your passion for people and product will help build lasting connections and memorable shopping experiences that reflect the spirit of New Era. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide superior level of prompt, efficient and courteous customer service 
• Use best judgment in all customer service matters and to quickly resolve and address any customer complaints
• Accurately process sales by processing cash, credit cards and correctly operate the point of sale system
• Maintain store and product layout
• Perform all regular cleaning duties and tasks
• Contribute to team efforts and attended all training sessions
• Participate in store events
• Be collaborative, dependable and respectful; communicate positively regarding store management and company strategies
• Perform physical inventory and follow all inventory procedures
• Maintain store stock levels on floor and in backroom
• Keeps all sensitive matters confidential
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Passion for the New Era brand the product we design
• Benchmark customer service and brand skills
• Ability to take and give clear directions and set expectations
• Problem solving ability
• Self-Motivated
• Ability to work within teams and desire to be help build and be part of the store culture
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time, necessary to provide sales floor coverage related to customer service and loss prevention
• Ability to reach overhead, bend squat, kneel, carry product necessary for customer service, inventory restocking and store merchandising
• Ability to walk up and down stairs, carry boxes, product and other necessary store related items
• Ability to perform regular store maintenance:  sweep, vacuum, empty trash, clean
• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs
• Comfortable climbing ladder

Education and Experience:

• High school Diploma or GED preferred; additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience working within a retail setting

Travel Requirement:

• The location for this position is 100% on-site in New York, NY
• 0% to 5%; domestic and/or global

The hourly rate for this posted position is $16.00 - $17.00 per hour and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation will fall within this range and is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
