Job Title: Retail Associate

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hours/Schedule: Thursday (10:30-5:00), Friday (10:30-6:00) and Sunday (11:00-4:00)

Department/Location: Thrift Store/Bridgehampton

PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for helping the manager of the thrift store conduct the daily operation of the Retreat Boutique Thrift Store on a part time basis, including communicating and interacting with volunteers and customers, helping out with sorting donations, facilitating a safe and healthy working and shopping environment, providing excellent customer service, and generating positive net income for the agency.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Independently run the store on given days as needed or in concert with the Store Manager
• Maintain a positive working/shopping environment.
• Ensure store maintenance.
• Help oversee all aspects of receiving/sorting/cleaning/evaluating donations (clothing, accessories, shoes)
• Manage paperwork and depositing register receipts on days worked.
• Communicate with the Thrift Store manager on daily activities at the store.
• Develop a positive presence in the community to promote the agency.
• Other duties as assigned.*

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

Reports to the Thrift Store Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be able available to work weekends and holidays
• English and Spanish speaking preferred
• Ability to lift heavy objects (40+ lbs)

• Background in fashion retail preferred

• Ability to multi-task and work with a variety of people in a busy environment

• Strong positive interpersonal skills

• Valid drivers license

• Knowledge of thrift store operations a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Sits, stands, stoops, squats, walks, and moves intermittently during work hours
• May lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds occasionally.
• Working at least 19.5 hours per week
• Hourly Rate: $22.00 per hour
