Restaurant Server | Part-Time

The Metropolitan Club offers a one-of-a-kind service job with consistent Monday through Friday hours, a hourly rate (no gratuity).  You will be providing fine-dining service in the most iconic and traditional private city clubs in DC.  If you are looking to start a career in private clubs, apply today!

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties

• Possess a passion for delivering enlightened hospitality and outstanding service and SMILE while doing it!
• Fundamental knowledge and appreciation of fine food & beverage
• Ability to suggestively sell wine and cocktails; deliver proper wine service
• Willingness to share your hospitality & service expertise and openness to learn a style of service steeped in tradition
• Anticipating member wishes for each unique dining experience
• Proactively resolve member and guest service issues

• Attend and contribute during pre-shift meetings
• Maintain control of station and proper timing of courses
• Accurate order entry using Jonas POS
• Clear and reset tables
• Contribute to pre-opening and closing sidework
• Coordinates any special requests including dietary needs with the kitchen team

 Hospitality

• Must maintain a neat and clean uniform appearance and practice daily personal hygiene
• Positive attitude required at all times

• Behave in a mature and professional manner including the utmost integrity
• Maintain positive people relations, strong team-player orientation, and outstanding communication

Experience & Qualifications

• 2+ years in a restaurant, retail or hospitality environment (preferred)
• Previous experience serving distinguished clientele a plus
• Reliable attendance record in previous positions
• Success in a team environment – demonstrated ability to work well with others
• Able to complete physically demanding tasks with efficiency (stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach)

• Proficient in English

 Schedule Requirements

• 20 hours per week | Evening Hours
• Schedule flexibility required to accommodate split shifts, evenings, and occasional weekends
• Hourly rate starting at $22 based on skills and experience
