Restaurant Server - Barrel House Bistro

General Purpose:

Esplanade at Madeira Ranch, Elk Grove’s premier resort-style community, is now hiring restaurant servers to join our opening team. As we launch our brand-new restaurant and bar, The Barrel House Bistro, we are seeking friendly, service-driven individuals who are passionate about hospitality and creating exceptional dining experiences.

Our servers play a key role in delivering a welcoming, elevated experience for our Members, from taking orders and serving food and beverages to ensuring every guest feels valued and taken care of. Weekend availability is required. Benefits include tips, potential shift meals, and the opportunity to grow within a dynamic, community-focused environment.

Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
 
Essential Duties:
• Provides immediate attention to all guests upon seating.
• Describes daily specials to guests. Answers questions regarding menu items and offers suggestions when appropriate.
• Takes food and beverage orders from guests and delivers food promptly after preparation.
• Follows up with guests to ensure satisfaction. Replenishes items as needed.
• Participates in pre-shift meetings and taste tests.
• Maintains an organized workstation and completes side work duties.
• Is accountable for checks and cash transactions. Utilizes the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Follows established systems for taking, placing, and delivering orders.
• Follows established standards for greeting, cocktail service, food delivery, and general service techniques.
• Practices tray service for all food and beverage service.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:
Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with arms and hands; stoops, kneels, crawls, or crouches; talks or hears. Occasionally sits; climbs or balances. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise:
Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses:
Food Safety and Sanitation Training and Alcohol Awareness Training required.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
• Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job (e.g., associates may be required to communicate with English-speaking customers or co-workers; manuals for equipment used may be in English).
• Meets state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages.
• Knowledge of POS systems.
