Restaurant Host/Hostess
Bretton Woods is a private golf and recreation center in the Germantown/Darnestown/Poolesville area that offers food and beverage services in multiple areas on our beautifully landscaped 269 acres. This position will be filled by a person that can work indoors, outdoors, evenings, weekends, and summer holidays. We cross train all F & B staff to be capable of providing table side service in the restaurant, on the outdoor patios, and at our pool snack bar.

As a host you will create memorable member experiences. You will be a member of a cohesive team that supports each other’s success, you will work in a team-oriented, high-volume, fast-paced, guest-centric environment to provide our members with an exceptionally distinctive dining experience before they even order food!

Reports to: Clubhouse Manager, Lead Server

Supervises: None

Requirements and Qualifications

Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone while maintaining a positive attitude.
Able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for multiple hours.
Able to bend, kneel, and lift items frequently weighing up to 25 pounds.
Must be upbeat, energetic, and well mannered.
Must have reliable transportation to work.
Must be able to work weekends.
16+ age requirement.

Essential Functions    

Responsible for timely and efficient greeting the club’s members, their families, and guests.
Knowledge and understanding of guests’ needs and preferences on seating.
Ability to work as part of a team from kitchen to dining room.
Anticipate member and guest needs, remaining a step ahead with continuous service.
Take ownership of situations in dining areas that create positive experiences.
Maintain a professional appearance and wear the required uniform; you are a representative of Bretton Woods.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Lift, push, pull, carry up to 50lbs.
Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Repetitive motion.
