Resident Monitor

Job Details: Job Location: FLA-Martin County Compassion House - Stuart, FL, Position Type: Part Time with Benefits 20 or More, Education Level: High School Diploma/GED, Salary Range: $15.00Hourly, Job Category: Housing, Schedule/Hours: Part-Time, 29 Hours/Week 

This position is responsible for:

Accepts and processes residents staying in lodge/shelter overnight; monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures that the shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepares resident rooms for occupancy, ensures facility readiness, checks fire safety equipment, and distributes linens, hygiene items, and medications as required.
Monitors resident activities to maintain a safe and secure environment, enforces house rules, conducts facility rounds, monitors security cameras, and documents significant incidents.
Completes client intake and program documentation, maintains electronic records, processes rent payments, and obtains required signatures on forms, rules, and regulations.
Responds appropriately to emergencies and resident conflicts, assists with de-escalation efforts, manages facility access during operating hours, and supports food pantry operations as needed.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage, motivate, and appropriately manage client behavior while working with diverse populations and the general public.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision, consistently enforcing established policies, procedures, and program guidelines.
Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly, calmly, and effectively while maintaining control and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
Capability to perform frequent sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday, with occasional lifting and carrying of light objects (up to 25 lbs.); work is performed primarily in an indoor shelter environment with minimal physical discomforts.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or G.E.D.

and

one year experience performing security or social service work preferred,

or

any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
