Responsible for assisting with research projects related to agriculture. Work involves collecting and preparing crop samples, recording data using various methods, and performing related assignments as needed. Works in a laboratory, field or greenhouse setting.

Work is performed under close supervision with minimal latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Assists with collecting and preparing crop samples
Assists with collecting and recording data using a variety of methods
Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates
Works collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to achieve project goals
Ensures the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Follows organizational and public safety guidelines and protocols, performs job functions in a safe manner, and reports all safety hazards per established policies and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED; 
OR a combination of experience, certification, education and training that demonstrates expertise in the related areas.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES OR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with laboratory and/or field research
Must possess and maintain a regular Class E Driver’s License

Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds).
