Research Associate

Our client, a world leader in biotechnology and life sciences, is looking for a “Research Associate I”.

Location: Santa Monica, CA
Job Duration: Long-Term Contract (Potential for conversion at the end of 18 months depending on the needs of the business)
Rate: $35-$39/hr on W2

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mammalian cell culture, cell counting, media preparation, and routine laboratory procedures.
• Execute laboratory experiments following established protocols and SOPs.
• Support laboratory automation, liquid handling, and sample processing workflows.
• Prepare reagents, consumables, and materials for experiments.
• Maintain accurate experimental records using electronic laboratory notebooks and laboratory data systems.
• Assist with data collection, quality checks, and organization of experimental results.
• Troubleshoot routine laboratory and automation workflow issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Immunology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience through industry, academic research, internship, or similar experience.
• Practical experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with laboratory automation or liquid handling systems.
• Experience with cell-based assays, flow cytometry sample preparation, or molecular biology techniques.
• Experience with ELN, LIMS, or laboratory data management systems.
