Registered Nurse (RN) - PRN Night Shift

Position Summary

Apollo Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for the 7P–7A night shift in Baton Rouge, LA 70816. This role supports safe, timely inpatient behavioral health nursing care and dependable clinical documentation.

Key responsibilities include completing new-patient assessments within 8 hours of admission; delivering individualized nursing care per physician orders; administering medications with daily monitoring and proper storage; contributing to interdisciplinary treatment planning; and completing, dictating, and signing required admission and progress documentation per policy and legal standards.

Required qualifications/skills:
- Current RN licensure; CPR required
- Strong organization, prioritization, and resource-conscious practice
- Effective collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Thorough, accurate documentation habits and active listening
- Ability to address and resolve interpersonal conflict professionally

Night-Shift Rhythm

You’ll begin the evening by organizing priorities for a smooth handoff, then settle into a steady cadence of patient rounding, attentive listening, and clear communication with the care team. Throughout the night, you’ll balance patient needs with careful resource use, keep records current and audit-ready, and collaborate on plan updates as clinical situations evolve. When tensions arise, you’ll de-escalate and help resolve concerns promptly to maintain a calm, safe environment. As morning approaches, you’ll prepare a concise, accurate shift report so the next team can start the day with clarity.
