Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care including assessment, triage, and treatment
Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care in a fast-paced environment
Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes
Administer medications and treatments per provider orders
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
Support patient flow and emergency department operations
Maintain a high level of patient experience and communication
Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and infection control standards
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team training
Support and guide CNAs and team members as needed
Respond to emergency situations with critical thinking and clinical judgment
