Cascade is a nonprofit community health center that has served Lewis County and the surrounding communities for 60 years. With five locations throughout Lewis County, Washington, we provide a wide range of services designed to meet the needs of our clients and community.

This position works in our Crisis Relief Center within Cascade's Evaluation and Treatment Center. The Crisis Relief Center is an 18-chair unit that provides short-term care for people experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis for up to 23 hours and 59 minutes.

Position Summary

This position assesses client and documents pertinent information including triage, behavioral health, physical health, and/or substance abuse issues. In addition, this position requires the ability to de-escalate potentially aggressive situations, crisis intervention, and will provide education to clients and their families regarding behavioral health diagnosis, medications, and treatments.

  • Thursday - Saturday 10:00am - 10:30pm (Day Shift)
  • Thursday - Saturday 10:00pm - 10:30am (NOC Shift)

Pay Range

RN Associate: $48.43 - $59.04

RN BS: $51.13 - $62.33 (BS in related field)

RN BSN: $53.81 - $65.59

RN MSN: $59.19 - $72.15

What You’ll Bring

• Washington State Department of Health Registered Nurse credential is required, or a multistate licensure privilege that includes Washington State.
• BLS Certificate required.
• Experience assessing, treating, and managing acute wounds is required.
• Must be able to pass WA State Patrol background check at hire and annually thereafter. National background check if have not lived in WA State consecutively the last 3 years.
• Must be physically able to pass violence prevention training and perform MOAB techniques.  

What You’ll Do

• Completes detailed nursing assessments with individuals and documents pertinent information including triage, medical/behavioral health assessments, and medication administration utilizing appropriate assessment tools.
• Accurately records all medication brought in by individual.
• Plans individual treatment as part of the multidisciplinary clinical team.
• Provides education concerning psychiatric diagnosis, treatment options, psychopharmacology, and overall health literacy to individuals, families, and all others involved in the individual’s care.
• Intervenes with appropriate verbal interventions to diffuse out of control or potentially dangerous behaviors.
• Demonstrates ability to effectively use therapeutic option theory and technique and can describe and demonstrate their roles and responsibilities.
• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of seclusion/restraint standards, guidelines, techniques and initiates documentation and debriefing with individuals for any seclusion/restraint incidents as required.
• Accurately transcribes provider orders and administers medications as prescribed.
• Attempts to have individual sign medication consent form.
• Performs chart checks and signs off as a second noted on medications prescribed.
• Draw labs and provides minor wound care as ordered by providers when required.
• Completes nurse to nurse at discharge or when accepting individual from another facility.

• License and certification reimbursement: Cascade reimburses the cost of required Department of Health license renewals and other job-related certifications, such as DEA registration and CPR/BLS certification.
