REGISTERED NURSE, CIRCULATOR NURSE - ANDERSON SURGERY CENTER - PRN DAYS

Job Details: Job Location: Anderson Surgery Center - Edwardsville, IL, Position Type: PRN (8 Hours), Salary Range: $30.00 - $53.70Hourly, Job Shift: Days, Job Category: Nursing, Job Summary:  Practices autonomously and in accordance with professional nursing standards, within parameters of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act, and within the policies and procedures of Anderson Surgery Center.  Responsible for safe and effective delivery of patient care to the operative patient.  Effectively utilizes the nursing process to ensure optimal nursing care and patient outcomes. Guides and directs patient care in the OR setting and works in conjunction with the operating room technicians. The perioperative nurse will function in the role of the circulating nurse and may function in the scrub role in the operating room.  Is responsible for maintaining instrumentation, maintaining equipment, stocking of supplies, cleaning of the department, and coordinating cleaning/preparation/sterilization of instrumentation in the Sterile Processing department.  May be cross trained in providing nursing care in all areas of the Anderson Surgery Center.

      16. Follows policy and procedures for cleaning, disinfecting and sterilization of scopes and instruments.

Cross training as needed within other areas of the surgery center.
Other duties may be assigned by the Surgery Center Director as necessary to facilitate the functions of Anderson Surgery Center. Work hours or shifts may be changed as necessary in order to provide adequate staffing for the department.

 
Qualifications: Education Requirements and Other Requirements:

            Education Level: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. 

Certification/Licensure: Illinois RN license required, BLS required.  ACLS required (or obtained within one year). CNOR preferred. 

            Experience Requirements: Minimum one-year scrub/circulator experience preferred.
