Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Provide BLS and limited ALS patient care in accordance with protocols
• Establish and maintain IV access and administer approved medications
• Perform advanced airway management, including supraglottic airways
• Assist Paramedics with ALS interventions when applicable
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitoring
• Safely operate emergency vehicles and equipment
• Accurately complete patient care documentation
• Maintain readiness of ambulance, equipment, and medications

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and operate specialized equipment, handle materials, and perform direct patient care activities; reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to stand and walk; occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, or stoop.
• Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 180 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 300 pounds with appropriate assistance.
• Regularly required to communicate verbally and hear effectively to receive operational information, assess patient conditions, and respond promptly to alarms, radios, telephones, and other auditory signals.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to ensure safe patient care and transport operations.

• Preferred additional certification or advanced training in emergency services: Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS); Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and/or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) training
• Technology proficiency

Certification & Licensure Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification
• Current State Registered Nursing (RN) licensure in good standing
• Current CPR: BLS, ACLS, PCC/PALS certifications
• Valid State driver's license
• Successful completion of written and practical exam
• Strong people skills and proven ability to collaborate in a team
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to comprehend and execute instructions in English
