Registered Dietician (Per Diem)

Job DetailsJob Location: Mammoth Lakes - Mammoth Lakes, CA 93546Position Type: Per DiemSalary Range: $38.49 - $54.82 HourlyJob Shift: DayThe Registered Dietitian (RD) shall participate in the provision of nutrition therapy assessment and counseling to inpatients and to outpatients as referred by their provider. The RD plans and directs preparation of diets as prescribed, and consults and counsels patients and relatives on special diet requirements. The RD will supervise dietetic service operations.

What You'll Do:

Performs nutrition screenings and assessments to provide medical nutrition therapy and education for hospital patients and those in the outpatient setting.
Maintains appropriate medical charting for nutrition assessment, intervention and education provided. 
Consults with patient care providers regarding patient's nutritional needs and therapeutic dietary restrictions. 
Inspects meals served for conformance to prescribed diets and standards of palatability and appearance. 
Advises the cooks/food service workers about patient's dietary needs.
Abides by the regulations established in the California Retail Food Code, Title 22, CMS, and departmental policies and procedures; including but not limited to food temperatures, food storage/receiving, sanitation, and personal hygiene.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in nutrition or equivalent preferred. 
Two years of experience as a Dietitian or Nutritionist preferred.
Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietic Registration.
Bi-lingual skills preferred.  

Job Information:

Per diem position on an as needed basis.
Varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Starting wage $38.49 to $46.66 based on qualifications.
