Role Summary

Location: Florida-Based/ South Region From Maryland & Viriginia through Florida

Compensation: $150,000.00 + Performance Bonus

The Regional Sales Manager - South (RSM) leads a geographically dispersed team of approximately 8-10 Business Managers and owns sales performance across the assigned South region. The role builds a capable, accountable team that delivers revenue, case volume, product placement, margin and gross profit objectives while strengthening customer relationships and expanding GMF's market presence.

This is a Florida-based, field-focused leadership position requiring frequent travel throughout the region. The RSM works directly with customers and team members, uses data to identify the drivers behind results, and develops high performers for broader commercial leadership roles within GMF.

Key Responsibilities

Build and coach the team. The RSM recruits, onboards and develops strong sales talent, sets clear expectations, and provides consistent coaching and feedback through regular field visits and ride-along. The role recognizes strong performance, addresses performance gaps early, creates development plans, and builds a pipeline of future leaders.

Drive regional sales execution.

The RSM owns regional revenue, case volume, placements, margin, product mix and gross profit. The role develops regional sales plans, reviews performance and forecasts weekly, identifies risks and opportunities, and implements corrective action. The RSM leads execution of Featured Offers, new product launches and other company initiatives, tracks results, and adjusts plans when performance is off target.

Strengthen customer and market performance.

The RSM maintains direct involvement with major and strategic accounts and coaches Business Managers on account planning, customer strategy and competitive positioning. The role monitors market conditions and customer trends, evaluates territory coverage, reinforces consistent CRM and pipeline practices, and partners with Sales leadership, Marketing, Finance, Operations and Supply Chain to improve execution and resolve significant customer issues.

Qualifications

Current Florida residency and established knowledge of the Florida and broader Southeast market.
At least 8 years of progressive field sales, account management or sales leadership experience in specialty food, FMCG, foodservice or a similar distribution environment.
Proven experience leading geographically dispersed teams and developing talent.
Strong commercial understanding of customer dynamics, competitive positioning, margin, product mix and business economics.
Ability to use data to diagnose performance, forecast results and track progress.
Direct communicator who provides clear feedback, holds others accountable and builds strong working relationships.
Frequent regional travel, a valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
Specialty food distribution experience and established Southeast customer relationships are preferred.
