R&D Engineering Co-Op

Position Overview: We are seeking a driven and hands-on R&D Engineering Co-op to support our R&D team in the development, testing, and improvement of medical device reprocessing solutions. The ideal candidate will be passionate about engineering and healthcare innovation, with a strong willingness to learn and contribute to a variety of tasks within a fast-paced, small team environment. This co-op position offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in medical device engineering and reprocessing technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design, prototyping, and testing of new medical device reprocessing solutions.
• Support the team with data analysis and interpretation of testing results.
• Participate in design verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Conduct material testing, process optimization, and other hands-on engineering tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including regulatory, quality, and operations) to meet project milestones and deliverables.
• Assist with the documentation of development processes, testing protocols, and results.
• Provide recommendations for improvements in product design, reprocessing techniques, or workflows based on findings.
• Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to medical devices and reprocessing.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives to streamline existing processes

Required Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong academic background with coursework or experience in product design, prototyping, and testing.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, materials testing, or engineering tools.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and problem-solving techniques.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Interest in the healthcare and medical device industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous internship or co-op experience in medical device engineering or a related field.
• Familiarity with FDA regulations (21 CFR 820) or other medical device standards.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
• Preferred minimum GPA of 3.5 demonstrating excellence in the ability to learn and retain information
