Quality Control/Mission Support Specialist

Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Quality Control/Mission Support Specialist to provide image processing, large format photographic printing, file troubleshooting, file archive, and customer support for the eMITS program at Johnson Space Center.  This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Develop, apply, revise, and maintain quality standards for final inspection of print products and digital imagery in accordance with NASA standards and contractual requirements.
• Assist in reviewing and evaluating print and digital products and implementing corrective action as needed.
• Collaborate with customers to identify specific product needs and develop appropriate material solutions to meet those requirements.
• Support daily work order tracking, status updates, customer engagement, and metric tracking.
• Provide troubleshooting for image files.
• Operate image systems such as printers, film scanners, and other digital imaging tools; provide image distribution via internal and external websites, Box, and servers.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports, procedure updates, and other documentation required by NASA.
• Provide Mission imagery support including manning the Orion Electronic Still Camera Console (OESC) during Artemis flights processing and delivering downlinked imagery to mission support teams.

Qualifications

10+ years experience in photography and digital imaging.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field.  Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.  Proficient in the use of digital imaging applications, file management (including file audits, image transfers, archiving, image resolution), ink jet printers, and color management software.  Must have strong communication skills and display leadership ability.  Must be able to prioritize work orders and support workflow management throughout the entire team.  Proficient in Microsoft 365, Office, SharePoint, and Box.  Occasional travel required.  Must be a US citizen.
