POSITION SUMMARY

This position drives continuous quality improvement and leads the team of QC inspectors & technicians in the production area.  Also, ensures Company quality objectives are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for hiring, oversight, training, development and appraisal of departmental staff, including incoming QC inspectors, AOI/xray operators, final QC inspectors, quality technicians, and quality engineers

· Direct day-to-day activities and priorities of quality team members

· Ensure compliance with electronics manufacturing IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards

· Oversee completion of first article inspection reports and certifications of conformance from quality department personnel in a thorough and timely manner

· Ensure that standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation are maintained and adhered to

· Participate during third party audits with BSI, customers, UL, etc.

· Analyze and report on departmental level quality data

· Document and initiate corrective action and risk analysis
QualificationsSPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university is required

· 3+ years of experience in an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company

· 3+ years of Quality management experience

REQUIRED/PREFERRED SKILLS

· Prior experience working with and/or implementing an AS9100 program is preferred

· Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001

· Knowledge of quality processes and standards

· Excellent communication and organizational skills, professional disposition and strong managerial skills

· Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

· Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines with changing priorities and schedules

· Strong initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee may be exposed to hazards (chemical, mechanical, and / or radiant energy). The employee may be required to wear protective clothing such as heel straps and a lab coat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All of the work will be performed indoors.
