Job Details: Job Location: Dallas - Residential - Dallas, TX, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Homeward Bound, a behavioral health agency for adults, is hiring a Qualified Mental Health Professional to work on the Deflection/Crisis Respite Unit where residents may stay for 1-10 days while they get stabilized due to being off of medication, experiencing housing instability, or needing coordination with other types of care but without the acuity of needing a locked down facility.

Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor's level education in psychology, counseling, sociology, social work, or related field.

Job duties will include

Complete an initial screening and/or assessment on each individual within 24 hours of arrival on the crisis unit.
Assist residents with all case management needs including, but not limited to, appropriate housing upon discharge, connection with positive social support, and coordination with necessary resources.
Coordinate care between deflection/crisis respite and mental health outpatient and other aftercare providers.
Complete intake documentation with clients including financial information.
Prepare residents in deflection/crisis respite for discharge and work with the treatment team to eliminate barriers to success.
Create person-centered treatment plans with individualized goals, objectives, and strategies.
Assist in direct care on the unit including observation, checking in and out belongings, facilitating phone calls, and attending meals.
Facilitate psychoeducational groups daily and complete documentation.
Provide therapeutic intervention in potential crisis situations and assist the team in ensuring the appropriate level of care and coordination of services is provided.
Attend all treatment team staff meetings.
Perform a daily evaluation and documentation of each client’s mental status including assessing for suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, and audio/visual hallucinations.
Be willing to take and document vitals for clients as needed.
Be trained in self-administration of medication and give medication to clients when needed.
Assist in clinical decision making regarding both admissions and discharges.

Be responsible for scheduling and maintaining communication with both residential and outpatient clients.

Be familiar with different funding sources and the documentation that each requires.
