The Role

This contract-based, hourly consulting position is ideal for someone with deep expertise in Florida’s property tax protest system who can serve as a trusted advisor during our early market entry. There is also potential for this opportunity to evolve into a mutually beneficial partnership as we expand our property tax offering in Florida. We proudly partner with leading home financial services companies, including USAA, Lemonade, Compass, Nerdwallet, CreditKarma, Monarch Money, Consumer Reports, Thumbtack, and more.

What You’ll Do

As our Property Tax Appeals Consultant, you will support Abode Money’s team by providing:

• Regulatory Insight: Clarifying Florida statutes, administrative processes, and compliance obligations relevant to property tax protests.

• County-Specific Knowledge: Giving practical guidance on local requirements in key counties—including Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Hillsborough, and Orange.

• Filing Processes: Coaching our team on petition filing strategies—including TRIM notices, deadlines, evidence requirements, and online vs. paper submissions.

• Hearing Procedures: Sharing best practices for navigating the value adjustment board (VAB) process and preparing effective protests.

Who You Are

You are an ideal fit if you:

• Have direct experience in the Florida property tax ecosystem—whether through your own practice, an established firm, or government office.

• Possess deep knowledge of county-level procedures, deadlines, and rules, especially in Florida’s five largest counties.

• Demonstrate innovative thinking while adhering to all local statutes and regulations surrounding property tax appeals.

• Are available for consulting on an as-needed, hourly basis via phone or Zoom.
