Project Manager III - Non Exempt

The Part-Time Project Manager provides administrative, operational, and project coordination support for the ARPA-H Making Obstetrics Care Smart (MOCS) research program led by Dr. Carolyn Bayer at Tulane University. This position supports the successful execution of a federally funded multidisciplinary research initiative by coordinating project activities, monitoring milestones and deliverables, maintaining project documentation, facilitating communications among internal and external stakeholders, and assisting with financial, compliance, and reporting requirements. The incumbent serves as a key resource for organizing project operations and ensuring adherence to university and sponsor guidelines. 

Responsibilities

•    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, sponsors, and external partners.
•    Working knowledge of financial reconciliation, purchasing processes, and budget monitoring.
•    Ability to interpret and follow university, sponsor, and regulatory policies and procedures.
•    Demonstrated proficiency with virtual collaboration platforms and project management tools.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

•    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Research Administration, or a related field.
•    Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative, project coordination, or program management experience. 
•    Experience supporting complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
•    Experience with budget tracking, meeting coordination, report preparation, and records management.
•    Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Experience supporting federally funded research programs, grants, or contracts.
•    Experience in an academic medical center, university research environment, healthcare organization, or clinical research setting.
•    Knowledge of sponsored research administration and sponsor reporting requirements.
•    Familiarity with ARPA-H, NIH, NSF, DoD, or other federal research funding agencies.
•    Experience coordinating activities related to human subjects’ research, regulatory compliance, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions.
•    Experience with financial reporting and monitoring of sponsored project budgets.
•    Certification in project management (CAPM, PMP, or equivalent) or research administration (CRA, CPRA, or equivalent) preferred.
•    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data tracking, and dashboard development.
•    Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams involving researchers, clinicians, engineers, and external collaborators.
•    Tulane University administrative or sponsored project experience preferred.
