Project Manager I-Clinical Education-CAPC

Description

The Project Manager position is part of CAPC’s Clinical Education team – the team responsible for developing online clinical educational tools and technical assistance to support clinicians nationwide who are either part of palliative care programs or who want to learn more about incorporating palliative care principles into their clinical care settings. CAPC’s Clinical Education curriculum reflects the highest adult learning best practices, is award-winning and has been used to educate more than 170,000 clinicians across the United States. CAPC works with external subject matter experts and palliative care leaders nationally to identify best practices in palliative care clinical practice; and the Clinical Education team translates these best practices into practical online curricular deliverables for dissemination to clinicians. CAPC clinical education courses, workshops, certificate programs, and learning pathways provide continuing education (CE) credits for physicians, physician associates, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers and case managers. 

This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Continuing Education.

About the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC)

The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) is a division of the Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine Department at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.  CAPC is a national organization dedicated to increasing the availability of quality, equitable health care for people living with a serious illness. The organization maintains national membership to support the growth of palliative care programs in health care organizations across the country and the world, and we deliver palliative care education to tens of thousands of clinicians each year. Responsibilities

• Project management of CAPC virtual events (workshops, webinars and others) related to palliative care clinical education, including:

  • Scheduling

  • Working closely with faculty to ensure materials are delivered in a timely manner for CE applications

  • Invoicing/coordinating faculty payments

  • Liaising with CAPC marketing team to post virtual clinical education events to CAPC’s website and promote to CAPC’s audience

  • Running live clinical education virtual events

  • Obtaining evaluations and reporting post-events

• Project management of CAPC projects related to online clinical education courses and learning pathways, including:

  • Working closely with the rest of the clinical education team (Director of Clinical Education, Clinical Education Project Manager, Instructional Designers, and Senior Manager of CE) on clinical education curricular projects

  • Coordinating working groups of external palliative clinical care experts and faculty to ensure courses and learning pathways are delivered in accordance with schedules and grant deliverables

  • Managing the development of clinical education online course and learning pathways, either for creating new courses/tools or updating existing courses/tools

  • Liaising with relevant collaborators across CAPC to ensure high-quality course and learning pathway development, including health care transformation, health equity, CAPC website, marketing, and Salesforce/data analytics teams.

  • Reviewing and revising faculty-developed course materials prior to publication

• Project management of cohorts for the CAPC Clinical Education Certificate Program
  • Scheduling and managing learners and faculty for 6-month cohorts of interprofessional clinician learners
  • Coordinating across CAPC teams to obtain evaluations, surveys and additional data

• Continuing Education and Continuing Medical Education (CE/CME) Procedures

  • Assists the Senior Manager of Continuing Education (CE) in preparing, building, and submission of CE and CME applications

  • Works with CE and CME accrediting bodies to make sure CAPC remains compliant with all paperwork requirements and submissions for CE/CME accreditation

  • Assist the Senior Manager of Continuing Education in collecting and maintaining data sets to meet CE reporting requirements utilizing Excel and customer relations management (CRM) reporting tools.

• Maintenance of CAPC’s clinical education web pages (course, workshop, certificate and learning pathway pages), including coordination of review and implementation of necessary updates. 

• Maintain continuous communication with CAPC Member Services team to ensure that clinical education projects and products are responsive to CAPC member needs

• Report on usage data for CAPC clinical education materials to support grant report-writing and strategic decision-making for content development, using data reports from CAPC’s customer relations management software
• Uphold CAPC’s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) values in all professional activities and interactions

   

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or greater preferred, or combination of applicable work experience and education
• 3+ years of relevant experience with Masters degree; 5+ years with Bachelors degree; project management-specific experience preferred
• Continuing Education CE/CME management education preferred.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – both internally with team members and representing CAPC externally among health care leaders
• Excellent organizational skills, agility, flexibility and the capacity to manage multiple complex projects in parallel
• Comfort working in a team-oriented, fast-paced, and collaborative workplace culture
• Comfort working remotely in a virtual office
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, including advanced skills in Excel; specifically creating pivot tables, conditional formating, data manipulation, and creating advance formulas and functions to summarize data manage continuing education (CE) data sets.
• Comfort learning new technologies, including web management, learning management systems, and customer relations management software
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and solve problems on projects

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $65885 - $98827 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
