Position Location: Remote – work virtually from anywhere in the United States (Regular coordination with project teams; occasional travel to a project site may be offered as a learning opportunity)

Summer 2027 Internship Dates: May 17th, 2027- August 13th, 2027

JOB SUMMARY

The Project Manager Intern supports the delivery of projects for mission-critical construction and infrastructure programs while gaining hands-on exposure to how a Master Systems Integrator plans, executes, and closes out complex technical work.

Working under the direct guidance of an experienced Project Manager, the intern assists with project documentation, scheduling, cost tracking, meeting coordination, and stakeholder communication. This role is designed to build practical project management skills in a real production environment — the intern contributes to live project deliverables while learning the standards, tools, and workflows used across our programs.

The intern is expected to bring strong organization, curiosity, and attention to detail, and will receive structured mentorship, regular feedback, and increasing responsibility over the course of the internship.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Project Execution Support (40%)

• Assist Project Managers with day-to-day execution of assigned projects, from kickoff through closeout activities
• Support project initiation tasks such as organizing scope documents, contract files, submittals, and execution plans
• Help prepare, distribute, and track project documentation including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and action-item logs
• Learn to read and navigate contract documents, drawings, and technical documentation with PM guidance
• Flag issues, open questions, and potential constraints to the supervising Project Manager promptly

Financial & Change Management Support (20%)

• Assist with tracking labor, material, and subcontractor costs against project budgets
• Help maintain cost logs, purchase order records, and forecasting spreadsheets
• Support preparation of change order documentation and backup materials for PM and client review
• Learn the fundamentals of project financial reporting and margin management through hands-on assignments

Schedule & Reporting Support (20%)

• Assist in updating project schedules and milestone trackers under PM direction
• Help monitor progress against schedule and compile status inputs from field and internal teams
• Support preparation of weekly status reports, dashboards, and lookahead summaries
• Learn how risks are identified, logged, and mitigated on active projects

Meeting & Stakeholder Coordination (15%)

• Attend project meetings with clients, GCs, subcontractors, and internal teams; capture and distribute minutes and action items
• Help coordinate meeting logistics, agendas, and follow-ups
• Communicate professionally with internal team members and, as appropriate, external stakeholders

Learning & Development (5%)

• Participate in structured onboarding, mentorship check-ins, and training on company tools and standards
• Complete an end-of-term project or presentation summarizing work performed and lessons learned

Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget

Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (rising junior or senior preferred)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); exposure to project management platforms (e.g., Procore, MS Project, BIM 360, or similar) is a plus but not required
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and ask questions proactively in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in construction, mission-critical infrastructure, data centers, or building automation / controls
• Prior internship, co-op, part-time work, or campus leadership experience is a plus but not required

• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working on a computer
• Ability to move through offices, job sites, and warehouse environments as needed
• Ability to occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds

TRAVEL / RELOCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Travel is not required for this role; occasional site visits (up to 5–10%) may be offered as a learning opportunity where practical
• A valid driver’s license is preferred; any air travel requires REAL ID–compliant identification or a passport

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Active enrollment in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (recent graduates within 6 months may be considered)
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred
• Coursework in project management, construction, engineering, or scheduling is a plus
