Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, monitoring, and closing a variety of cross-functional projects that support the objectives of the business unit. This role provides structured project management discipline across business, operational, quality, regulatory, supply chain and commercial ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and in alignment with applicable internal procedures and regulated-environment expectations.

The incumbent will work closely with business leaders, functional stakeholders, and project teams to define project objectives, establish governance, manage timelines and risks, facilitate decision-making, and communicate progress. The role is not limited to a specific project type and may support multiple concurrent initiatives of varying size, complexity, and business impact.

Responsibilities will include:

Project Planning and Governance:

• Leading the planning and execution of multiple Business Unit projects from initiation through completion in conjunction with commercial team, internal stakeholders and customers.
• Defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, success criteria, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, action logs, risk registers, communication plans, and other required project documentation.
• Establishing appropriate project governance, meeting cadence, decision-making processes, and escalation pathways.
• Monitoring project progress against timelines, budgets, resources, and deliverables; proactively identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensuring project activities are aligned with business priorities, quality expectations, and applicable internal policies and procedures.
• Preparing and presenting clear project status reports, dashboards, summaries, and leadership updates.
• Communicating project status, risks, issues, decisions, and next steps to stakeholders at appropriate levels of detail.
• Tracking project performance indicators and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
• Contributing to the development and standardization of project management tools, templates, and ways of working within the business unit.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

• Coordinating cross-functional teams across areas such as Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Commercial, Finance, IT, Manufacturing, and external partners as applicable.
• Facilitating project meetings, preparing agendas, capturing decisions and actions, and ensuring timely follow-up with customers and internally.
• Serving as a central point of contact for project-related questions, updates, risks, and escalations.
• Supporting stakeholder alignment by translating business needs into clear workstreams, responsibilities, timelines, and deliverables.
• Identifying resource needs and constraints and working with functional leaders to support appropriate prioritization and workload planning.
• Promoting collaboration, accountability, and timely decision-making across project teams.

Risk, Issue, Change, and Compliance Management:

• Identifying, assessing, documenting, and monitoring project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
• Developing mitigation plans and contingency actions in partnership with project stakeholders.
• Escalating critical risks, delays, resource conflicts, and decisions to leadership in a timely manner.
• Ensuring project documentation and execution practices support traceability, audit readiness, and expectations for regulated pharmaceutical environments.
• Support quality, regulatory, and compliance considerations throughout the project lifecycle, as applicable.

This position may require domestic and/or international travel to support project meetings, stakeholder engagement, supplier or site activities, audits, workshops, or implementation support. A valid passport may be required. The incumbent of this position can expect an estimated 0-25% of required travel during the course of the business year.

The salary range for the position of Project Manager is $115,000 - $130,000 per year. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity and other factors as permitted by law.

Required Experience & Knowledge

• Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive project management or related experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical, life sciences, specialty chemicals, and/or regulated manufacturing sector.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously from initiation through closure.
• Working knowledge of project management methodologies, governance practices, risk management, issue management, change control, and stakeholder communication.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
• Ability to develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, status reports, action logs, and risk registers.
• Understanding of Pharma regulated business environments and the importance of documentation, compliance, quality, and audit readiness.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Teams, SharePoint, or equivalent systems.
• PMP certification, PMI certification, or formal project management training is preferred.
• Chemistry-related experience supporting pharmaceutical products, development activities, technical assessments, and cross-functional project execution is preferred.
• Experience supporting pharmaceutical, GMP, GDP, quality, regulatory, validation, technology transfer, manufacturing, supply chain, or commercial projects is preferred.
• Experience developing project management tools, templates, dashboards, and reporting routines.
• Ability to work in a fast-changing environment with international and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong facilitation, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and change management skills.
• Highly detail-oriented and organized, able to work independently and collaboratively with a positive, solution-oriented approach.
