Rate of pay: $15.00. Final compensation is based on factors such as the skills, qualifications, and experience.
Essential Responsibilities
• Provide percussion and drum line instruction to participants ages 7–17 with varying skill levels.
• Teach fundamental and advanced percussion techniques, including rhythm, timing, stick control, rudiments, and performance skills.
• Follow lesson plans, rehearsal schedules, and instructional activities.
• Prepare participants for performances, exhibitions, competitions, and community events.
• Evaluate participant progress and provide constructive feedback to support skill development.
• Ensure proper use, care, storage, and inventory of percussion instruments and equipment.
• Foster an inclusive environment that welcomes participants from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Minimum Qualifications
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community
• Experience in percussion performance, drum line instruction, music education, or related field.
• Knowledge of percussion techniques, marching percussion, rhythm development, and ensemble performance.
• Experience working with youth ages 7–17 in educational, recreational, or community-based settings.
Preferred Qualifications
• Multilingual
• Proven experience fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for youth participants.

YMCA Healthy Living Prevention Programs
Diabetes Prevention Program
A program for those who have prediabetes or are at high risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes. The Program is a year-long program, developed in conjunction with Indiana University and recognized by CDC, consists of 16-1 hour-sessions, followed by 6-8 monthly meetings. The classroom-based program is proven that by eating healthier, increasing physical activity and losing a small amount of weight, a person with pre-diabetes who is overweight can prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes .

Healthy Lifestyles Behavior Change Program
The program, developed with Stanford University, is a behavior change program where participants focus on one health goal for the duration of the program. In a classroom setting, participants in learning about healthier eating, physical activity and other behavior changes over the course of 22 one-hour sessions. Improved self-confidence and achievement in accomplishing short- and long-term health goals are typical outcomes of the program.
