About the Role

The Veterinary Application for Uniform Licensure Transfer (VAULT) Program provides licensure verification services to veterinary regulatory boards, on behalf of veterinarians and veterinary technicians.  The VAULT Program Manager owns the full program lifecycle from discovery to delivery. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of user needs, business goals, and cross-functional execution. You will define the program’s vision, build roadmaps, and work alongside senior leadership to design, evolve, and market to launch successful services.  Along with the Sr. Manager of Programs, the Program Manager will develop and implement an annual vision plan that aims to support and advance veterinary medicine regulation.

 VAULT is supported by a highly adaptive team that consistently seeks to improve and meet service goals. The VAULT Program Manager leads a collaborative team of five direct reports, supporting them in their day-to-day work while focusing on the big picture.

This is a highly visible role that works with many internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Vision: Define and communicate a clear vision and long-term roadmap aligned with the organization’s goals.

Member, Customer & Market Research: Develop mechanisms to routinely gather feedback from Members and licensees, analyze  trends in regulation and the veterinary industry, and assess other industry offerings to identify gaps and opportunities.

Execution & Delivery: Translate the organization’s strategy into detailed requirements, user stories, and specifications for cross-functional teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner daily with leadership, technology, finance, and marketing teams to ensure smooth operations.

Data & Metrics: Track performance of services using key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics and data analysis to guide future program iterations and improvements.

WITHIN 1 MONTH, YOU WILL:

• Establish relationships with the VAULT specialists and associates, learning about their strengths, working styles, and goals.
• Gain an understanding of the role of VAULT in the regulation of veterinary medicine.
• Learn about the non-profit structure and governance of the organization.

WITHIN 3 MONTHS, YOU WILL:

• Have a working knowledge of the VAULT workflows and current database/operating systems.
• Be able to provide program updates to Senior Leadership and written reports in collaboration with Sr. Manager of Programs.
• Collaborate with fellow managers to understand the organization’s other programs and services and how those provide a broad support system for veterinary regulatory boards.

WITHIN 6 MONTHS, YOU WILL:

• Identify areas for improvement in workflow and program execution.
• Use data to make informed decisions on program’s enhancements and activities.
• Work with other managers to move projects forward and make progress on the organization’s strategic goals.
• Have begun outreach to members, enabling you to speak to the challenges they experience with licensure of veterinary professionals.

WITHIN 12 MONTHS, YOU WILL:

• Develop program’s vision plan for the coming year in collaboration with Sr. Manager of Programs and the VAULT team.
• Confidently speak about the program and the organization with Members and external stakeholders.
• Navigate competing priorities across the organization while advocating for the program (and staff’s) needs.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Required: 

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of experience in non-profit organizations or government agencies, including project, program, and people management.
• Experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience serving members or customers directly.
• Experience working within a database or CRM.
• Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred: 

• Experience managing a membership or customer-service oriented team.
• Program or Product management experience
• Certified Association Executive (CAE) certification
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Occasional travel, including some over weekend trips, are required  to fulfill the position’s responsibilities.

Details

The Program Manager, VAULT is a full-time and exempt position. Work is performed under the direction of the Senior Manager of Programs.

Salary range: $64,000 - $68,000

The AAVSB is headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas. This position may be virtual/remote with the understanding that there will be required company-paid travel to Overland Park, Kansas, and other locations throughout the year.
