What You’ll Do

A Program Leader at a School-Based Club possesses robust youth development skills rooted in their relationships with youth, faculty, and families, complemented by their extensive knowledge and experience in the field. They demonstrate the capacity to effectively oversee their department, consistently managing groups of children.

• Programming (60%)
  
  • Plan, prepare, and implement daily enrichment activities in STEM, Literacy, Wellness, Fitness, or Nutrition for youth.
  • Ensure programs meet member and organizational needs regarding safety, enrichment, quality, and fun.
  • Continuously monitor and reflect on program success to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Track daily program attendance and log behavioral incidents using Salesforce.
  • Incorporate practices recommended by Behavioral Health Services (BHS) to reduce trauma and increase wellness.
  • Develop and execute annual goals in alignment with organizational and Club expectations.
  • Adhere to Club meal service protocols and transport members as needed and approved by supervisor.
• Leadership (30%)
  • Utilize the Club’s Positive Behavior Policy when holding members accountable to agreements.
  • Comply with the Club’s Restroom Policy and maintain a safe, inclusive environment while safeguarding youth confidentiality.
  • Manage inventory of program supplies and cleaning equipment; inform leadership of supply needs.
  • Provide positive guidance and role modeling to members, maintaining contact with parents to assist in resolving problems.
  • Represent BGCSF with a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Other Duties (10%)
  
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, required BGCSF mandatory trainings, and perform other duties supportive of the Club.

What You Bring

Required

• Experience working with primary age group youth and strong oral/written communication skills
• Ability to set and hold strong, effective boundaries and expectations with youth
• Ability to work in a high-paced environment with continual distractions and adapt to shifting priorities with a flexible mindset
• Strong organizational skills to create/follow systems and maintain spaces and materials
• Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days of employment

Preferred

• Spanish bilingual fluency
• BA/BS from an accredited college or university, or equivalent youth development and office management experience
• Experience working with 1st and 2nd graders in a classroom or out-of-school-time setting
• Prior experience using data tracking software (Salesforce) and Google Workplace (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Gmail, Chat)
• Experience with program/lesson plan development and specific interest in STEM, Literacy, Sports, or Recreation

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively.
• Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.

Compensation

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and BGCSF needs. At BGCSF, our decisions are based on other factors and dependent on circumstances for each position. Depending on the need and requirement of the position, an individual could be hired at or near the entry level, mid-level or top of the range for their role and compensation. As such, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $24.00 - $25.00 per hour.

Pre-Employment Requirements

As part of the hiring process, BGCSF requires candidates to complete LiveScan fingerprinting, a background check, and a tuberculosis (TB) evaluation or test.
