Are you ready to join as a Program Coordinator? In this role, you'll serve as a year-round leader focused on planning, coordinating, and delivering engaging, adaptive, and meaningful camp programming throughout the year. You'll work in close partnership with the Cabin Life Coordinator, Volunteer Manager, Admissions Coordinator, Medical Team, and Camp Director to help create safe, inclusive, and joy-filled experiences for campers, families, volunteers, staff and more!

From September through February, the Program Coordinator serves in a part-time capacity focused on program planning, resource management, seasonal hiring, training development, and program readiness. Hours fluctuate throughout the year based on program needs, averaging approximately 15 hours per week and generally not exceeding 20 hours per week. Beginning in March 2027, the role transitions to full-time to support staff training, program implementation, and summer operations.

MINIMUM AGE OF 21 REQUIRED.

What you'll be doing (with a supportive team):

Serve as a year-round advocate for high-quality, inclusive, and engaging camp programming across all Camp Korey programs.
Collaborate with leadership to plan, implement, and continuously improve camp activities, special events, traditions, and program experiences.
Assist with development of program schedules, activity plans, lesson plans, and session flow for Family Day Adventures, Spring Family Weekends, summer sessions, and other Camp Korey programs.
Participate in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of seasonal Program Team staff.
Assist with review and development of seasonal job descriptions, recruitment materials, interview processes, and candidate evaluation tools.
Lead portions of seasonal staff orientation and training related to activity facilitation, risk management, adaptive programming, camper engagement, and program operations.
Directly supervise seasonal Program Team leadership staff and assigned seasonal team members.
Provide coaching, mentorship, accountability, evaluation, and performance feedback throughout the program season.
Coordinate activity schedules, staffing assignments, supplies, equipment, and daily operational needs during camp programs.
Support adaptive programming by helping ensure activities are accessible, engaging, and appropriate for a wide range of camper abilities and support needs.
Partner with Cabin Life, Medical, Volunteer, and Leadership teams to ensure campers have safe, meaningful, and successful experiences.
Maintain inventory, organization, cleanliness, and stewardship of activity areas, program equipment, storage spaces, and camp resources.
Conduct routine inspections of program spaces and equipment and assist with purchasing, replacement, repair, and inventory tracking.
Lead and facilitate activities, special events, traditions, evening programs, all-camp activities, and other camper experiences throughout the year.
Support Spring Family Weekends and Family Day Adventures through program coordination, facilitation, logistics, volunteer support, and onsite leadership.
Serve as a host and resource for guest groups utilizing Camp Korey's facilities and program spaces.
Support tours, donor events, fundraising events, community events, and organizational initiatives as needed.
Review camper, family, volunteer, and staff feedback and help identify opportunities for continuous improvement across future programs.
Maintain compliance with Camp Korey policies, ACA standards, SeriousFun standards, and risk management practices related to program delivery.
Participate in professional development opportunities through SeriousFun Children's Network, the American Camp Association, and other relevant organizations.

What you'll need to bring (necessary requirements):

Experience working with children, families, recreation programs, educational programs, camps, or similar environments.
Experience facilitating activities, events, programs, or group experiences.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing needs with flexibility and positivity.
Joy in being silly! You'll join cheers, dances, songs, games, and the playful spirit of camp.
Ability to "go with the flow" in schedule, people, and program changes.
Ability to learn and utilize computer software and technology platforms.
A continuous improvement mindset to the services provided and your own professional growth.
Physical ability to participate in camp activities and support an active camp environment.

Requirements:

Must obtain CPR/AED certification within first week of employment (can be provided).
Valid driver's license.
To ensure a safe and healthy environment for our campers, staff, and volunteers, applicants must provide immunization history, authorize a background check, and complete a drug screen test.
Some travel required approximately 2–4 times per year for hiring/team events.

We'd love it if you already had (preferred requirements):

Camp experience, especially in program leadership roles.
Experience supervising, mentoring, coaching, or training staff.
Experience developing and facilitating recreational, educational, outdoor, adaptive, or therapeutic programming.
Experience working with children and youth ages 4-17.
Experience supporting individuals with life-altering medical conditions, disabilities, or diverse support needs.
Experience managing equipment, inventories, activity spaces, or facilities.
Experience planning events, camps, retreats, or recreational programs.
Knowledge of ACA standards, risk management practices, or adaptive recreation principles.
Communication capability in multiple languages.
CPR/AED Certification.

Qualifications

Experience in camp, youth programming, or recreational activities preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple preparation tasks simultaneously.
Comfortable performing hands-on tasks, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining program equipment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented and flexible.
Familiarity with safety standards in recreational or camp environments preferred.

Work Schedule

Part-time, flexible hours depending on the individual’s availability and the program schedule.
Responsibilities vary from week to week; the Program Coordinator is not expected to manage any task in its entirety or independently.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, and set up equipment and materials.
Ability to spend extended periods outdoors in variable weather conditions.
