Here is What’s on Your Horizon

Faculty/School:  School of Human Resources and Global Business  

Program/ Courses:  Diploma Course- ITA501 - Pricing and Quoting

Schedule details: This will be a 3- hour course, onsite at the Newnham campus on Fridays (12:35 p.m. – 2:20 p.m.), along with 1 hour of asynchronous instruction per week for the duration of the term

Responsible for providing academic leadership in the classroom and ensuring an effective and compelling learning environment for students.  You will…  

• Ensure student awareness of course objectives, approach, and evaluation techniques.
• Carry out regularly scheduled instruction, which may include tutoring and academic counselling of students.
• Provide a learning environment that makes effective use of available resources, work experience and field trips.
• Evaluate student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the student's work within assigned courses.

What you bring to Seneca

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics or in a closely related field. Additional post-secondary education is an asset.
• CIFFA (Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association certification
• Valid CCLP (Certified Canadian Logistics Professional) or CITP (Certified International Trade professional) designation is an asset

Experience

• Industry experience in freight forwarding, specifically in pricing and quoting for logistics sale.  
• Postsecondary level teaching experience
• Experience teaching in multiple modalities (in-person, online, hybrid)

Skills

• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience teaching fundamentals of your area(s) of expertise.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.  
• Ability to interact effectively with the Polytechnics’ diverse staff and student population is required, as is an understanding of and commitment to equity in education.  

• Commitment to a team approach for problem solving and conflict resolution.
