Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor leads daily cement manufacturing operations, coordinating production activities across the plant to achieve safety, production, quality, and environmental goals. This role partners with maintenance and operational teams to maximize equipment reliability, control costs, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure safe work practices and enforce safety procedures across all production areas (LOTOTO, confined space, hot works, PPE); shift employees are task trained on all required skills, work place and pre-operational inspections are done before proceeding with the work.
• Supervise and coordinate daily production operations (kiln, raw mill, finish mill, material handling, cement shipping).
• Respond to process upsets, alarms, and equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Monitor and control process parameters to maintain stable operation and product quality.
• Direct and support control room operators and field personnel during shift operations; prepare plans and set time expectations; ensure that employees have skills, knowledge to do the jobs correctly and on timely bases.
• Coordinate with maintenance for planned and unplanned work to ensure equipment availability.
• Ensure production targets (throughput, quality, energy) are achieved during the shift.
• Communicate shift performance, issues, and handover information to incoming supervisors and incoming supervisors, other departments and management.
• Enforce environmental compliance during operations (emissions, fuel usage, process limits).
• Respond to emergency situations and give all required notification to internal resources and regulatory agencies.
• Complete required reporting and follow shift plan/instructions.
• Support training and development of operators and promote adherence to safety policies and SOPs.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• This is a safety-sensitive position requiring compliance with all company safety policies, MSHA/OSHA regulations, and applicable drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, including technical documentation, process data, and safety procedures.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Strong decision-making, communication, and team coordination skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in Process Operations, Instrumentation, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in cement manufacturing, process operations, or a similar heavy industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of cement manufacturing processes and equipment, including kiln, raw mill, finish mill, and material handling operations.
• Experience working with DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI, and other process control systems.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of process control, industrial automation, and production operations.
• Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Ability to effectively coordinate activities among operations, maintenance, quality, and other plant teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and respond quickly to changing operating conditions.

Technical Knowledge

• Familiarity with environmental permits, emissions monitoring, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Understanding of maintenance work management systems, production reporting, and operational performance metrics.
• Working knowledge of purchasing, procurement, and inventory management processes.
• Proficiency with plant information systems, operational reporting tools, and computerized production control systems.
