Product Engineer - Motion Control

Job Details: Job Location: Brecksville Location - Brecksville, OH, Salary Range: Undisclosed, The Product Engineer – Motion Control is responsible for supporting sales growth by providing technical expertise and application-focused solutions for Triad’s motion control product portfolio. This role serves as a technical resource to customers, Account Managers, and internal teams, helping customers identify, select, and implement motion control solutions that meet their application requirements.

The Product Engineer will develop strong customer relationships, understand customer applications and technical needs, and recommend appropriate products and solutions. The role will provide technical support throughout the sales process, including application review, product selection, demonstrations, troubleshooting, training, and solution development.

The position requires regular travel, with approximately 60% of the time spent on-site with customers to provide technical support, develop relationships, and identify new business opportunities. This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, serving as a trusted technical advisor for motion control applications and solutions.
Work closely with customers to understand application requirements and recommend appropriate motion control products and solutions.
Provide technical expertise related to motion control products and applications, including sensors, actuators, motors, drives, motion controllers, and related automation technologies.
Provide on-site customer support, including product demonstrations, application troubleshooting, technical consultations, and product training, approximately 60% of the time.
Partner with Account Managers throughout the sales cycle to provide technical expertise, support customer discovery, develop solutions, and ensure effective solution delivery.
Collaborate with Engineering and other internal teams to develop application-specific solutions and ensure accurate product specifications and technical requirements.
Support product selection, sizing, configuration, and quoting activities based on customer application requirements.
Identify opportunities to introduce new products, expand existing customer relationships, and develop new business within the assigned territory.
Partner with vendors and suppliers to stay current on product capabilities, applications, and market trends and support sales performance initiatives.
Provide technical training and product education to customers, Account Managers, and other internal teams as needed.
Support the development of sales targets, forecasts, and regional sales strategies.
Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the growth of Triad’s Motion Control business.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required for the Engineer title; candidates without an Engineering degree will be considered for the Specialist title.
3+ years of experience in motion control, industrial automation, engineering, application engineering, technical sales, or a related customer-facing technical role preferred.
Strong understanding of motion control products, applications, and industrial automation systems.
Experience with motors, drives, actuators, sensors, motion controllers, PLCs, or related automation technologies preferred.
Ability to understand customer applications and translate technical requirements into effective product and system solutions.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose application and technical issues.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to present and explain technical concepts to customers and internal teams at varying levels of technical expertise.
Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems preferred.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory.
