The Produce Role

Brookhaven Market is hiring a Part-Time Produce Clerk (onsite) in Burr Ridge, IL for evenings and weekends, paying $16–$19/hour. This role exists to keep our produce department looking sharp, fully stocked, and customer-ready.

Key responsibilities include:
- Stocking and rotating fresh fruits and vegetables (FIFO)
- Building tidy, eye-catching displays and checking quality throughout the shift
- Helping customers with questions, suggestions, and special requests
- Monitoring inventory, assisting with ordering, and keeping items properly stored
- Labeling/pricing, and following safety and sanitation standards

What you’ll bring:
- Grocery or produce experience preferred (not required)
- Produce knowledge/seasonality is a plus
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stay on your feet for the shift
- Strong attention to detail, friendly communication, and comfort in a fast-paced setting
- Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays

You’ll start by checking what’s selling, what’s looking a little tired, and what needs a quick “wow” upgrade before the rush hits. As the Produce Clerk, you’ll bounce between freshening up the tables, doing fast quality checks, and answering the classic questions (yes, you’ll become an avocado consultant). You’ll coordinate with the team on low spots and incoming product, then wrap up by leaving the department neat, clean, and ready to shine for the next crew—because great produce should look like it just rolled in.
