PRN Patient Access Coordinator- CEP Orthopedic Rehab

Job Summary: Responsible for front office operations including answering the telephone, greeting, and directing patients and caregivers, completing registration requirement for outpatient therapy patients, obtaining insurance verification, and authorization for outpatient therapy services. All duties and responsibilities are to be carried out with empathy and compassion toward patients, visitors, and co-workers.

CarolinaEast Physicians is made up of over 150 physicians, and mid-level providers who provide care to patients spanning four eastern North Carolina Counties. Minimum Requirements: 

• High school diploma with additional courses in or knowledge of medical terminology, bookkeeping, computer use. 
• One year in a clerical health care setting preferred. 
• Complete the 9 courses assigned within the registration education module. These courses include HIPAA Overview, Registration and Insurance Basics, and Service Excellence. These courses are designed to improve employee performance and gain competence in the role as well as enhance the patient experience. A passing grade of 80 is required for all courses and courses must be completed within 6 months of date of hire.
