Role

We are looking for a Principal Specialist Sales Engineer to join our West team. This is a remote role, reporting to the Director of Specialists Solutions Architects in the Zero Trust Branch department. The Speciality Sales team is a global group of professionals who are passionate about delighting our customers, nurturing trusted partnerships, and sharing their expertise to drive a secure, cloud-enabled digital future and further cement our position as the world leader in cloud security. Sales, Customer Success, Sales Enablement, Solution Architects, Business Development, Transformation, and Technology Partnerships all work together to demonstrate the power and agility of Zscaler cloud transformation to the world, and we are looking for your expertise to elevate our Exposure Management team.

What you’ll do (Role Expectations)

• Create and deliver technical product presentations to prospective customers
• Gather customer technical requirements to ensure proposed solutions will meet customer goals and needs
• Lead product evaluations and custom product configurations
• Design evaluation test plans with customers and guide the process to successful outcomes

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools, with a proven history of integrating new technologies to enhance daily workflows and augment problem-solving
• Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 10+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or Solutions Architect
• Proven experience selling network security technologies (SD-WAN, routing protocols, SWG, routing, proxies, firewalls, SSL/IPsec, VPNs, DLP, and end-user monitoring)

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Industry standard certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, Network+, CCNP, CCIE, or Security+
• Deep understanding of complex, multi-year sales cycles and expertise in value-based storytelling
• Demonstrate strong AI fluency by leveraging coding assistants, LLMs, and Generative AI tools to accelerate troubleshooting, solution design, automation, and customer problem-solving, while applying sound technical judgment to validate outputs

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range$175,875—$251,250 USD
