Principal Architect, Solution Architecture

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Architect, Solution Architecture based in United States.

This is a senior architecture role focused on shaping an enterprise identity lifecycle management ecosystem. You will define the target architecture and technical roadmap around SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC), while connecting identity services with applications, data platforms, APIs, and security capabilities. The role combines identity architecture with data strategy, analytics, automation, and user experience design. You will help establish scalable identity data foundations, including data lake and data fabric capabilities. You will also explore agentic AI solutions that can simplify access requests, approvals, and identity-related workflows. Working across multiple technical and business teams, you will provide architectural direction and influence how complex solutions move from concept through implementation.

Accountabilities:

• Own the target architecture and technical roadmap for an enterprise identity lifecycle management platform centered on SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC).
• Design scalable integration patterns connecting SailPoint ISC with external platforms, enterprise applications, authoritative sources, and downstream identity and access services.
• Define approaches for identity data ingestion, connectivity, normalization, governance, access, and reuse across the broader identity ecosystem.
• Guide the development of an identity data lake and data fabric that can support analytics, automation, and user-facing experience capabilities.
• Partner with data and engineering teams to leverage enterprise data and analytics platforms, including Databricks and Lina, for identity-related solutions and insights.
• Architect intuitive user experiences that translate identity data and workflows into efficient interactions for employees, approvers, administrators, and other stakeholders.
• Shape identity-focused agentic AI use cases, including assistants that can understand user context, identify requested application access, initiate requests, and route approvals.
• Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions for identity and AI capabilities, identifying opportunities to develop differentiated internal solutions where appropriate.
• Establish architecture standards, reusable integration patterns, reference designs, and technical decision documentation for identity lifecycle solutions.
• Provide technical leadership across identity, access, data, connected systems, analytics, automation, and user experience domains.
• Collaborate with security, IAM, data, engineering, application, and business stakeholders to align architecture with enterprise requirements and delivery priorities.
• Communicate complex architecture decisions clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences and influence implementation across multiple teams.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated hands-on architecture experience with SailPoint, including strong expertise in SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC).
• Strong knowledge of identity lifecycle management, identity governance, access-request workflows, approvals, provisioning, and connected-system architecture.
• Proven experience designing enterprise solution architectures that integrate cloud platforms, applications, APIs, data sources, and security services.
• Deep understanding of identity data connectivity and how identity information moves between identity platforms and external systems.
• Experience designing data platforms, data lakes, data fabrics, analytics foundations, or comparable enterprise data architectures.
• Ability to connect identity architecture with data, analytics, automation, and user experience requirements rather than treating identity as an isolated application.
• Strong ability to explain architectural tradeoffs, document technical decisions, and guide cross-functional teams from initial concept through implementation.
• Experience operating as a senior technical leader within complex, matrixed enterprise environments.
• Experience with AI, generative AI, or agentic AI applied to enterprise workflows, identity, security, or access management is preferred.
• Experience architecting context-aware assistants, workflow agents, or API-based integrations between AI services and enterprise data sources is an advantage.
• Experience with Databricks or comparable data and analytics platforms is preferred.
• Experience designing experience layers, portals, or conversational interfaces over identity services and data is a plus.
• Familiarity with modern cloud security, privacy, data governance, and responsible AI principles is preferred.
• Experience leading architecture across multiple product, platform, and engineering teams is an advantage.
