PW 100 Sails Back Waithelp
Primary Responsibilities:     Welcome guests with a warm and inviting demeanor.  Attentive to guest’s needs and engage with the guests in conversation, and establish a rapport.  Friendly and articulate with excellent communication skills.  Ability to multi-task essential duties with multiple departments on a daily basis.  Well organized and have a willingness to learn.  Takes the initiative to ensure guests are serviced beyond their expectations.

Essential Duties:

1. Follow Federal and State liquor laws along with hotel policies in serving alcoholic beverages.
2. Recognize and appropriately respond to disgruntled patrons.
3. Welcome & greet guests in a friendly manner, personalizing service and build a rapport.
4. Sell food and beverages to enhance the guest’s experience.
5. Perform all opening and closing duties to hotel standards.
6. Detailed understanding of serving equipment and usage.
7. Familiar with all hotel brands and beverages. 
8. Pour water for guests upon their arrival and refill throughout service not letting the glass go below 1/3 full.
9. Expedite food on the kitchen line and tray up for servers to pick up.
10. Ensure food and beverages are served in a timely manner.
11. Remove dirty dishes, silverware, and glassware from tables.
12. Transport dirty dishes, glassware and flatware to kitchen from bus stations on a cart.
13. Reset tables according to restaurant standards.
14. Deliver oshibori to guest tables and replenish as needed.
15. Maintain supplies and cleanliness throughout service period.
16. Consistently perform tasks as specified by SOP’S.
17. Perform other related duties as required or assigned by a manager.
18. Other Duties:
19. Knowledge of the Prince Waikiki branding, history and geography.
20. Keep work and storage areas clean, sanitized and orderly.
21. Monitor and up-keep supply inventory.
22. Recommend the hotel’s restaurant and facilities to guests.

Working Conditions:

1. 100 Sails Bar and Kitchen.
2. Indoor venue with Air Conditioning.
3. Fast paced environment with elegant guest service.

Work Hours:

1. Able to work day and night shifts determined by the restaurant manager.
2. Able to work more than 40 hours per week when needed.

Equipment Use:

1. Proficient use of oval trays to transport dishes and food
2. Proper use of carts to transport dirty dishes, glassware and flatware
3. Coffee makers, Tea brewers, Espresso machine.

Mental and Physical Demands:

1. Able to multi-task and organize/prioritize workload.
2. Able to manage stressful & challenging situations when dealing with guests.
3. Able to stand, walk, bend, and reach continuously during an 8 hour shift.
4. Lift and carry 50 lbs.
5. Push and pull up to and over 50 lbs.
6. Able to train new employees.

Communication Demands:

1. Must be able to communicate effectively in English to fellow employees, managers and guests.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

1. Read and write English to perform job duties.
2. Passionate about food and beverage and possess a desire to exceed guest’s expectations.
3. Service-minded and innovative who continue to deliver high quality standards of service. 
4. Two year’s bussing experience in a full service restaurant preferred.
5. Dept. of Health TB clearance.
6. Minimum 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
7. Must obtain Hawaii State liquor commission card.
8. Pass a written test on beverage and food items.
