Practice
Setting:   

• Inpatient psychiatric unit
• Duties involve rounding, admissions, and managing primary care needs for patients undergoing inpatient psychiatric treatment​
• Average census 52

Schedule: 

• Full-time coverage
• Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts
• No weekends or call coverage required

Patient
Population: Ages 10 to geriatric

EMR: Cerner

Credentialing: 60 days

Requirements:

• Active Massachusetts licensure
• Board certification
• AHA BLS certification
• Minimum 2-years Primary Care experience or equivalent

Job Responsibilities (Generalized):

• Conduct
  comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat
  a variety of medical conditions
• Develop
  and implement individualized treatment plans
• Order
  and interpret diagnostic tests
• Prescribe
  medications and manage chronic conditions
• Provide
  patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
• Perform
  procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
• Collaborate
  with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure
  coordinated care
• Document
  patient care accurately and thoroughly

  communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport
  with patients
• Proficiency
  in performing physical examinations and procedures
  relevant to their specialty

  thinking and problem-solving skills to diagnose and

  to work independently while also collaborating
  effectively with a healthcare team

Requirements

Education:

• Master
  of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP
  specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology,
  pediatrics)

Licenses
& Certifications:

• Active
  and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse
  (APRN) license in Massachusetts
• National
  certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a
  recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of
  Nurse Practitioners [AANP])

Experience:

• While
  specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions
  prefer candidates with at least one year of experience
  in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
